Day of Celebration

Friday September 2 was a champagne-popping day at Excelsior! The California Department of Fish and Game is now the proud owner of the Yuba Narrows Ranch, 530 acres along the Yuba River which will now be permanently protected as open space. Thanks so much to our friends at the Trust for Public Lands for making this possible!

Brian and Erik Vink of Trust for Public Land celebrate acquisition of the Yuba Narrows Ranch by the California Department of Fish and Game.

Yuba Narrows Ranch Acquisition Approved

Sacramento, Nov. 17 - At their fall meeting, the California Wildlife Conservation Board, in concert with the Trust for Public Lands, voted unanimously to acquire the 528-acre Yuba Narrows Ranch, ensuring that this significant property, with almost two miles of critical salmon spawning habitat along the Yuba River and Deer Creek and rich blue oak woodlands, will be permanently protected as open space. Following acquisition in 2011, it is anticipated that the Ranch will be managed by the Department of Fish and Game, and that portions of it will be made accessible to the public.
